Structures and Networks for Future Energy Supplies
Sep 19, 2012
The 17th Kassel Symposium on Energy Systems Technology from 11th-12th October 2012 brings together experts on "Structures and Networks for Future Energy Supplies". Topics such as virtual power plants, energy management and system services, information and communication technology, as well as electricity, gas and heating systems are the focus of the Symposium. Future energy markets and supply structures for a future climate-friendly energy supply are of particular importance for the participants. At a press conference on 11th October at 10.30 a.m., media representatives can gain information in advance concerning selected highlights from the E-Energy project "Renewable Model Region Harz", including a demonstration of the control room of the virtual power plant.
Transforming the energy system to decarbonized electricity generation and implementing related measures is the challenge of the 21th Century. Such a major reorganization affects the energy-dependent sectors of electricity, heat, transport as well as all related areas including electricity producers, networks, storage, consumers and markets. These vital issues pose a whole range of questions for research and finding answers to these is a central task of Fraunhofer IWES.
With the title “Structures and Networks for Future Energy Supplies“, the 17th Kassel Symposium Energy Systems Technology will take place in conjunction with the concluding scientific conference of the E-Energy project “Regenerative Model Region Harz“.
Up-to-date contributions from research and development will illustrate the most important issues faced by the transformation of the power system and present possible solutions.
