Intermittent wind loads

Load calculation plays a very important role in the dimensioning of the components when developing wind turbines. Since it has been revealed that the wind models requested in the relevant guidelines reflect reality incorrectly as far as the important aspect of so-called intermittency is concerned, this project is to investigate the effects of an improved wind model on the loads. The overriding objective of the project as a whole is to obtain information on the effects of new types of synthetic wind fields on the loads and the operational robustness of wind turbines.
